I personally consider there are 3 "grades" quartz they make.
Top grade: 9F series -- high torque, high accuracy, 50 years seal blah blah blah. Only found in Grand Seiko.
Tough grade: 75 and 7C series -- high torque, full metal blah blah blah blah. Only found in the professional dive watches.
Rest grade: all the rest including Kinetic and solar. They are either not as superior as above two grades in some respects, or not as important. They are found everywhere.

While the 9F deserves the number 1 place the number 2 slot may well be open to debate. I personally think that the 7C should occupy this position.

Don't forget about the 8J series that came on the GS before the 9F was created. They don't have the 50 year sealed thing but have something that I think many HAQ guys consider a prerequisite: an Independently Adjustable Hour Hand (IAHH)
