Hi all! I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of a Seiko Sarb033. Very excited, it will be my nicest watch to date.

My question is about its water resistance. It is rated to 100 meters, but does not have a screw down crown.

I definitely don't intend to go swimming with it, but I'm wondering what this rating means in the real world.

It means you should be okay getting caught in the rain, washing your hands, and swimming with it. I would avoid the hot tub or a hot shower, as the different rates of thermal expansion might compromise the seals.

Thanks for the link, sounds like it is fairly water resistant, which is a nice surprise.

Still, I think I will avoid swimming with it, just to be safe!
