I just bought a Seiko SNA225, it looks like a dive watch, but does not have a screw-down crown and locking push buttons. It's rated at 100 M water resistant. It's a nice looking watch, but I guess that it's just another pretty face, and would not be suitable for going down past 100 feet, let along meters. Any guesses about how deep it might be suitable for?

My guess is 100 meters ... ;-)

I see from Seiko's definitions that their 100 meter water resistant watches are said to be suitable for snorkeling and swimming and are tested to 100 meters, and they do say not to operate the crown and push buttons when the watch is wet or submerged:
