friend coming from Japan. which watch to get is good?
I understand both different technology.
No real reviews on SARC007 on accuracy etc.

SARC hands down, 6r20 is a magnificant movement IMO. Expect accuracy to be like the 6r15 I'd assume, it's a 28.8 BPH movement and a little more decorated than the 6r15 as well.

SNP009P1 will have the correct calendar until Feb 28, 2100. it has auto relay feature which automatically adjust itself with the correct time when not worn(sleep mode) check this link for live video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ulf6oc9a0wk it has quartz accuracy(about + or - 15 secs per month) and quartz movement(have a rechargeable battery with long term replacement capability) while SARC007 is an automatic movement(no battery but should be serviced regularly) one of the latest automatic movements by Seiko it has day and date function, has power reserve indicator(approximately 50 hours) and has a spec of + 20 or -15 secs per day but commonly better about + or - 6 secs a day also it has a clear caseback. hope this helps good luck the choice is yours!

No difference in quality at all. There may be some cosmetic differences in the markings on the dial and/or slightly different case number markings but otherwise there is no documented difference in quality one way or the other.
Some folks prefer to collect Japan only models but that is just personal choice

the technology is interesting.

does both watches have Anti reflective coating? the SARC007 has a display back it is Sapphire too? is 10 bar same as 100m? Do they offer screw in crown?

Which model is worth "collecting". it seem like for ppl that collect they go for mechanical watches. why is that so?
