The attached table is for TISSOT. Previously, this was given as Eterna. For Eterna see: http://www.schild-eterna.de/tripletime.htm and click on 'Liste de seriennummern von 1900 bis 1974' towards the bottom of the page.

The IHC 185 has a excellent reference section, mostly devoted to American made pocket and wrist watches.

There are many links to specific sites scattered within the posts. Here are a few:

Hamilton serial numbers

Elgin serial numbers

http://elginwatches.org/databases/elgin_sn_intro.html

Waltham serial numbers

There are several other links located at the NAWCC Chapter 149 website at this address:

Omega has an "official" serial number table here:

http://www.omegawatches.com/cu_vintage/img/movement.pdf

Here is a an "unofficial" table with a lot more information, posted by Ryan Rooney:

http://watches.ryanrooney.com/omegasn.html

The best site that I've found for research on vintage Rolex is here:

http://www.oysterworld.de/

Here is the link for Rolex serial numbers:

http://www.oysterworld.de/dates.htm

I just found a real nice Longines information site:

http://www.vintagewatchresources.com/

Serial number lookup is here:

http://www.vintagewatchresources.com/year_identifier.php

I have several other sites that I can't recall right now.

This should be a good start though!

Hope this helps,

Serial numbers for Eterna and Eterna-Matic:

Schlid - Eterna

Scroll to the bottom of the page and look for:

"Seriennummern von 1900 bis 1974"

Click on the blue bar underneath and all will be revealed, but in German.

Luckily, numbers are the universal language,

Hi Ray,

Thanks for getting this resource underway and populated, I though I would just do a 2014 URL refresh.
