For obvious reasons postage is very difficult now, it seems especially tricky with russian post. I haven't ordered a watch but instead a scintillation detector out of Russia but I think nuclear science and watch enthusiasts are some of the only groups with extensive experience importing Russian goods. I wanted to ask what people's recent experiences have been, especially with packages moving through Poland by air.

My order shipped on 11-30 and I originally saw ebay state 12/14-1/4 for delivery. When I saw the package leave out of the Vnukovo airport I was happy since was worried it would move through the RULED seaport in St. Petersburg. I have seen packages go straight to the US on a direct flight in the past few months but this one stopped in Poland for three days. I am happy to see it get out of Russia, unfortunately in previous cases posted online the packages seem to move in and out of Poland in a day or two which hasn't happened yet. Any thoughts on when I will see my package in Connecticut? I am hoping before Christmas.

I'm tracking 3 parcels from Russian Post right now. Only the first one (ordered Nov. 24th) passed through Poland (looks like for 5 days), before making it to JFK (where is has been for over a week).

If I was a betting man, I'd say we both see our packages about the second week of January. Just my experience, it does no good to compare with other's shipping times or worry that it's stuck in one place for too long. Just have to be patient (or try to forget about it, and be surprised when it shows up, lol). Only after 3 months or so would I really start to worry.

Here's my current Russian package, although it's going in the opposite direction. My experience has been that the Russian internal movements have always been the slowest.
Once it gets to Japan, I'm expecting about 1 week to reach Australia, so I may get mine just before Christmas or, if Australian domestic mail is swamped by packages because of the holidays, in the week before New Year's Day.

I would chalk it off to Christmas time shipping delays and that situation of a 100,000 Russian army build up at the border of Ukraine.

I have a package coming from Poland that was shipped on 11/22. It got to the FedEx office 5 miles from my house on 11/26 where someone noticed that it hadn't cleared US Customs. They sent it back to Indianapolis (FedEx hub) where it was last scanned on 11/30. No idea when it will show up. So near, and yet so far.

I have a vintage USSR Slava quartz watch coming from the Ukraine. On Jan.12th the tracking said this:
  • ‎The shipment was processed at the exchange institution of the country of submission and is already in transit to the country of destination‎
On Jan 15th it said this:
  • ‎The container with your postal item is processed at the airport‎
On Jan 22nd it said this:
  • ‎Accepted for mail processing appointment‎

There is a package waiting for me at the post office today. I wonder if it's the Slava.
