Should a rotor make noise when moving up and down?

I'm kind new to mechanicals and my watch is pretty noisy, I realise rotors can make noise as they spin but should they make any noise when moving up and down? I.e. watch face facing you and moving backwards and forwards? When I do this I get quite a loud noise and can "feel" movement or play inside the watch. I just assume there should be zero movement in this place otherwise the rotor might collide with the rest of the movement. Is it normal to have some noise when doing this? (Selitta s200-1). In a quiet room I can clearly hear my watch when I move it even at arm's length.

A lot of movements are noisy, 7750 especially so, and even vibrate the watch on your wrist when it really gets going.

If the watch is newish it should be fine, but if it bugs you get it checked out under warranty.

Yep, this sounds familiar. The Miyota movement in my Timefactors Everest is quite noisy as well. Accordingly to "the internet" this is common for the 90XX family of movements and the watch keeps good time so I've never investigated further. Perhaps a mistake on my part.I assume it's rotor noise but can feel it a bit as well as hear it.

The ball bearing, even when new, will have some play in it. So some movement is expected, but it’s not normally something you would notice.

Since the rotor in this watch is held by one screw, it’s possible that it could be loose. It’s also possible that this is just the normal play...only way to find out is to have someone check it.

Yes they do, but it being noticeable depends on the model and its functional state (a damaged rotor could become noisier after a shock for example. On others, the rotor noise isn't supposed to be heard while on the wrist, as your arm dampens it and its design might make it quieter to begin with.

Most of my watches are autos. I'd rate them from Tudor, is this thing spinning? No noise whatsoever.
To Certina, glance at the sky, sure there's an Apache doing circuits up there somewhere!
All autos have their own little habits. If it really bothers you, take it back and ask the dealer, you're well within warranty. They'll put your mind at ease.
