Frankly, i'm shocked this isn't a thread. Double points if your pic has it on a nato strap, and triple if it's on the H69419933 model. Thanks in advance!
Wearing a Hamilton Khaki Quartz today. I picked this one up from Overstock.com a long time ago, back when Overstock.com actually had overstocked items and some really good deals. I’d say a good 10 or 15 years ago.
I’d been salivating over the Hamilton Khaki Automatic, but just couldn’t come up with the money. So when the Quartz showed up at a good price (I think around $150.00, BNIB), I jumped on it. But I never really bonded with the watch, solely because it was the auto that I truly wanted.
Well, all these years later, I’m finally getting the auto as a birthday present to myself. The watch should arrive this afternoon, and be waiting for me when I get home from work.
But until tonight, it’s the quartz on my wrist. It’s really not a bad watch, as quartz goes. Highly accurate on a new battery. Extremely low profile on the wrist, so it never gets hung up on anything.
The face looks sensational. Pretty close to perfect, if you ask me. The hands actually line up with the dial, in all positions. This is something I’ve never had before on a quartz watch. My previous quartz watches always had some spot on the dial where the hands wouldn’t line up with the indices, which always drove me crazy.
I’m even still using the original leather strap. People love to hate on these Khaki straps, due to the stiffness, but they are definitely built to last. They may take 7 or 8 years to finally soften up, but eventually become quite comfortable.
So with a bit of luck, I’ll be posting a nearly identical watch tomorrow, but finally the exact model I always wanted.
