Looking at making a new purchase in the $2000 range. Drawn to dive watches also love the speedy. Have looked black bay, feels a big large.

How does the 2254.50 fit compared to say skx007 and the black bay? Specs say 41mm, where six sometimes says 42 and black bay is 41. The skx wears much smaller than the black bay.

TIA.

Wears smaller than the Black Bay. It's nice and slim with a sub 12mm thickness. I almost always wear mine when wearing dress shirts with fitted cuffs. It's a killer piece and classic SMP. Those sword hands on that black wave dial never gets old! Just an FYI the watch looks 10x better in person than any photos you can find on the internet or videos on YouTube.

I'd say the 2254 (and SMPc) wears similar to my SKX and slightly smaller than my Black Bay Red - they all wear bigger than my Submariner.

How it wears is less important than how it looks to others. If the watch looks small in photos of you, that's more important than if it wears large ... and vice versa.

When "Ray Donovan" came on the air, everyone on WUS thought Liev Schreiber (who, at 6'3", is by no means dainty) was wearing a DSSD or similar large watch. It was very hard to convince them that he was wearing his personal 2264.50. The tapering of the bracelet is what accentuates the size of the 41mm head. On a non-tapered Bond bracelet, the SMP does not look as big.

If you want a watch that looks large on your wrist for its size, you can't go wrong with the 2254.50. If you want something less imposing, it's a poor choice.

Its a great watch and really versatile. In the uk, its becoming fairly sought after. Especially one in good condition. Something to do with the constant omega price hikes perhaps but its certainly a classic. What I would say, is the size, although it does wear slimmer than the BB theres not a massive size difference due to the design of the case. The omega has a bubble back and the BB has the case side sitting on your wrist making the omega look much slimmer. Its partly an optical illusion as the BB is criticised for having "slab sides". This is just due to the design of the caseback sitting flush with the case side. In reality theres little thickness difference but the lugs on the BB are a bit longer so it does seem a bigger watch and does perhaps wear slightly bigger but its not as much as you would think. Its a tough call between the 2. Im lucky enough to have both. The BB gets more wrist time but out of the 2, the Omega would be the harder watch to get and will only get harder in coming years so if you can get a good one, go for it. Enjoy the hunt

Like you I thought the Black Bay wears a little too bulky for my liking, but my SKX's wear bulkier than my 2531 and 2254.

IMO, wears smaller than the black bay simply due to the thickness. The PO 42mm wears more like the BB to me. And vs the SKX, it feels less bulky, again due to thickness. Its a slightly larger surface area than the SKX, but it isnt a noticeable wear feel.

A very versatile watch. I wore a 2254.50 for almost all occasions, beach, work, causal, with a suit, snorkelling etc
I have skinny wrists and never once considered the 2254.50 to be too large. Before purchasing my recent 42mm PO I read alot of comments regarding the size of the watch looking large on smaller wrists, I myself can't see it and couldn't be happier with its size on my skinny wrists.
I think it all depends what you would define as large. Anyway go for the 2254, it's a fantastic piece!

The 2254.50 is one of the slimmest dive watches on the market, and definitely one of the most comfortable to wear. It's iconic and near perfect in every way in my humble opinion. It's a fantastic watch and represents excellent value.
