I'm surrounded by mountains 1000' or even 2000' higher. Just on a whim, I point it vaguely at where I think Fort Collins is---ya know, through that snow covered peak over there---and hit "Get". It goes from L1 to L3 and, unbelievably, at noon, it got a signal and set the time :-!

If you look closely you can see "RCVD" on the dial.

Great photo! I was in the Rocky Mountains earlier this year and mine could sync any time of day as well. Nice watch. :)

I go out of town to work (outdoors, photography) a lot. I have a bunch of automatic watches and some quartz. I take a selection with me and wind up just wearing my GW6900. I have an MC cloth strap on it I transferred over from another G I own...and never wear.

The G in the pic is just so comfortable to wear. It just disappears but is there as needed. It's comforting to know that if I fall into a volcano I'll go out with a watch that will still be keeping time.
