Anybody have some good suggestions for a watch that has a speedometer-like face? I'm thinking of something around the look of this Citizen.

Interesting request.
Davosa is the first one that comes to mind.
Also found this one (but currently out of stock).

The above Citizen is borrowing the look of a WWII German flieger used by the airplanes navigator.

This is often called a 'type B' flieger. The type B has the minutes more prominently marked on the outside edge of the dial, 5-55, with the hours inward towards the center pinion stack.

If that's the look you're interested in, any Type B should do you just fine.

However, the Citizen doesn't have a speedometer-inspired dial, but one that copies (rather poorly) the typical dials of German “Hermann Göring Gedächtnis Uhren”.
Watches whose dial design is inspired by speedometers look more like the Nomos Autobahn:

Now of course the question is, what do you want? A watch in speedometer design or rather a Flieger B-Uhr which was designed by the Reichsluftfahrtministerium of the N@z¡s?

That’s actually a flieger/field style watch and not a “speedometer” style.

Similar to what you posted, below is the super popular Seiko SNK809 and it’s newest SRPH29 iteration.

By an odd coincidence, many of the German adorable-up-to-luxury brands also do Type B Fleigers

Laco, Aristo and Stowa are a few that spring to mind that I have

Another Laco, but with the traditional dial without a distracting logo

Ditto from Aristo, but with the sin of including a date

Then there's micro brands and all the aforementioned Seiko variants and this kinda nice Orient, that I never quite got around to getting, not because it's cheap as chips ( like $265 USD), but possibly because the white date seemed intrusive

So, lots and lots of options if the Type B is what you were after depending upon your definition of affordable.

Interesting watches - almost none have the dial features of the Citizen shown. What I like about that Citizen design is the minutes on the outer ring, hours inside, and lastly and especially the 24-hour scale innermost...and the date...and eco-drive. So, for me, none of the suggestions, as cool as some are, hit the mark - regardless of this looking not much like a speedo to me although the instrument panel gauge-style is there. I'd call it a Field/Flier combo and cleanly done.

I'd say figure out what exactly you like about it and work from there. It's tough to find a flier with 24-hour or a field with the minutes ring that's for sure.

And if you do like that one, even though discontinued, here it is for cheap Citizen Avion Dark Grey Dial Men's Watch AW1361-10H 013205107146 - Watches, Avion - Jomashop

the cons could be: 45mm and no sapphire glass
