Fellow watch journalist James Henderson of Tempus Fugit always gets a little hot under the collar when watch brands borrow interest from movie stars and celebrities to promote and hopefully bring street cred to their wares, but surely, we can make an exception for director Spike Lee.

Spike Lee was up for a Golden Globe this year for his latest movie BlacKkKlansman.Based on actual events, the movie is about an African American police officer from Colorado Springs, CO, who successfully manages to infiltrate the local Ku Klux Klan branch with the help of a Jewish surrogate who eventually becomes its leader. But on the night it was Alfonso Cuarón who took home the Golden Globe for Best Director of a Motion Picture for Roma, and in the process extended Lee's four-decade streak without one of the three major directing honors.

At the Awards show, Lee wore the JLC Polaris Chronograph World Timer. Released a year ago at the SIHH 2018, the titanium Polaris Chronograph WT is fitted with a 44 mm titanium case, the largest case within the Polaris collection. The watch features a blue dial and an eye-catching combination of brushed and hand-polished surfaces, with sharp, plunging lugs and thin, rounded bezels.

The watch, which comes on a brown alligator leather strap, has two crowns and two pushers for its chronograph. The crown at 10 o'clock rotates the inner disc with 24 cities, the crown at 3 o'clock sets the time and winds the watch.
