I have read that the Seiko Spring Drive movement has to be hand-wound.......and I really find that hard to believe. Does anyone know whether that's true?

Thank you both! First ones hand-wind, later ones automatic wind.
So far, even the Springdrive GS appears to be 15 seconds a year. I'm glad it's no better because Seiya has the listed at almost five grand!
