I recently have bought my first field watch (CWC GS sapphire date black dial) and decided to start my NATO strap collection.

Right now I have the admiralty grey one which the watch came with and the grey/black five stripe (as below).

I am getting the red/white/blue one next that is the colour of my country's flag.

Do you have any suggestions for my collection moving forwards?

Thank you in advance and I wish you all a lovely day.

If you can find them, Phoenix makes the best original style NATO straps for military applications.
Others include Crown & Buckle, CWC, Tilgem, CNS, Uncle Straps, Bark & Jack, Strapcode, Zuludiver, Marathon and Maratac plus so many others...

Advice? Yes.

Call them nylon straps, or the boogeyman will take you to court...

Came to suggest this, best strap for dollar IMO and I wish they made more colorways. I also just ordered a couple of their USM style single pass straps to try out (with the fabric keepers). They're made of a nylon cotton blend so interested in what that feels like and how it performs in water.

I also love the Geckota vintage Bond US style single pass, which appears to be discontinued but still available.

The C&B chevrons are truly premium but the cheaper and more classic fabric is actually my preference on most watches.

Nothing annoys me more than a nice watch on a flimsy crappy NATO. That being said, I’ve scoured the net in search of the highest quality NATO’s.

Here’s my findings and what I use: C&B matte supreme nato strap with Monstraps buckle modded with 2mm flangeless spring bar attached to the buckle. Sounds wacky but I’m telling you it doesn’t get better than this!

Highest quality nylon and keepers: Crown & Buckle
Highest quality buckles: Monstraps
Highest quality nato that doesn’t require modification: TimeFactors (good luck purchasing)

at one time i had maybe 300 natos... I eventually sold or threw most of them away and I have only kept the following:

6 Haveston Parade Series
6 Horlogear HorloFLEX straps
6 Horween leather straps
4 Haveston General Service straps (that's how they're sold)
3 Marathon Rubber Straps
1 Sail Cloth strap
1 Kevlar strap
1 Perlon strap

Most can be found in Watch Bands & Watch Straps | Holben’s but if you're looking for links, here are more:

please feel free to add this to the Straps forum and/or make it sticky

The Crown & Buckle Chevron adjustable strap is my favorite for fit, feel & they look great. I cannot go back to a standard/traditional NATO strap after experiencing them.

If you're interested in just building up a collection of styles & colors to change things up all the time, CNS Straps is going to give you a lot of options to buy in bulk.
