STOWA GMT watch at the 24 H race at the Nürburgring
Acid test in the toughest 24 H race of the world!
Just in time before the start of this year's legendary 24 H race at the Nürburgring
( June 21 and 22, 2014) STOWA has created two new sports watches:
A 24hr countdown watch and a countdown 24hr OVR Racing team watch.
Both watches are based on the popular GMT watch, Stowa offers for several
months.
The watches will be worn during the race by fully professional and GT World
Champion Marc Basseng, who drives for Audi again this year.
For several years, Jörg Schauer and Stowa support the cute and congenial
racer and successful team manager.
In 2012, Marc won the 24hr race on a Bilstein R8 LMS Ultra with Christopher
Haase, Frank Stippler and Winkelhock. This year, Marc races with Audi again
for the overall victory.
The other driver is a longterm friend of Mr. Schauer, Oliver Sprungmann. Both
drivers know each other from civilian service at the Red Cross and they
share their passion for motorsports.
Oliver Sprungmann drives a gas-powered Ford Focus RS for the fifth time this
year. After winning two second places Oliver Sprungmann and the experienced
team of OVR Racing aim for the class victory this year.
The exciting thing as every year is that in this 24 H race full-time professionals
meet courageous and talented non-professionals, but both are fighting for the
same goal: defied the weather conditions and the 24hr race track on their
own fitness and technique!
This year, two of the new 24 H Racing watches, based on the popular model
GMT, will lap for the first time on the arm of these two drivers.
