Please look at the picture. Both watches were synced a minute ago to an iPhone.
They have a noticeable difference in the seconds.

I think, it can only be a problem with the apps.

Compared to an app called “atomic watch” the Casio is correct.

English is not my first language – but you have noticed this, haven’t you? ;-)

Synchronize Instinct via GPS.

Time settings
Press and hold MENU and select Settings > System > Time.

Time Format
Specifies whether the time is displayed by the unit in 12-hour or 24-hour format.

Setting the time
Defines the time zone for the device. If Auto is selected, the time zone is set depending on the GPS position.

Time
Allows you to adjust the time when the Manual option is selected.

Alarms
Allows you to set the sunrise and sunset alarms to sound a certain number of minutes or hours before the actual sunrise or sunset.

Synchronized via GPS.
Allows you to manually sync time via GPS when you move to another time zone and set the time to daylight saving time.

The Instinct does not sync via the Phone App.

Kind regards

Re: Strange – do you understand this?

As you seem to have solved your problem, just passing this info along, fyi.....

I think you said you have an iPhone. So do I. Be aware, the G-shock Connected app on iPhone DOES sync with a network time server. Then when you sync your watch to the phone, the watch gets its time from the app. (which should be 100% correct!) The watch is NOT getting the "phone's time."

I ran a little test myself to verify this. Your GPR-B1000, when synced via BT with your phone, should be the exact same time as any of your other watches that synced via MB6 or GPS. ;-)

It does appear to be the case that Android phones may allow the G-shock Connected app to sync with the phone's time. That could give the watch an inaccurate sync. That's what I've heard, anyway...

Re: Strange – do you understand this?

It is good to hear that the Casio gave the G-Shock Connected App a correct time reference.

As far as my phone's network time. It was really bad today:

Again for better understanding. The Garmin Instinct does not synchronize the time via the mobile app. This is done exclusively via GPS, Glonass, or Galileo.
The Garmin App has no problem here.

Download the Hodinkee app, it has an atomic time feature. Also try www.time.gov
