Hello: I found two fantastic italian leather belts from a number of years ago in storage. They are beautiful italian makes from a ritzy NYC store. I forget about them because they were too small to wear.

Are there any strapmakers who would consider using a customers own leather to make a strap? Or who could take a look and advise if the belt would be a good candidate or that the idea is not actually worth the time.

Thanks

Doesn't look like it would be a problem at all, and they do look like they are nice leather. If you can fold them over tightly without any cracks, etc popping up from the stress, you've got useable leather.

I've made straps from ammo leather that was more than 80 years old, no concerns. Good leather is good leather.
