I have long appreciated watches, and am not getting more interested in them and would like to get some suggestions as to books that would be good for someone newer to Vintage watches.

In general I like utility type watches: WWII Military, 1950s / 60s manuals as well as vintage dive watches. Not into the super high grade time pieces (yet).

What are your suggestions for reading and research.

Thanks in advance to all.

I always suggest to people to gat a copy of :
Complete Price Guide To watches - Richard Gilbert, Tom Engle, Cooksey Shugart.

Its 'crammed' with pictures and information on nearly every watch company.
As The price guidlines are not so important you can buy last years or the previous years version, very cheaply.
Its a fantasic source of info

Regards

Agreed. Good book, and the info (text) in it is very informative
I also like it tell the movement manufacturer of each time-piece

Agreed - good choice
