A while back, I bought my wife a quartz Heuer 3000 that I found on eBay. I like the old 3000 divers, and she enjoyed this watch a lot. Now it needs a new battery. My questions for Heuer cognoscenti are:

  1. Can anyone recommend a specialist for servicing a vintage heuer?
  2. If there isn't a specialist, what sort of service is possible or recommended for a watch of this vintage?
  3. Is there any consensus on whether an older watch (it's at least old enough to predate the 'Tag' name) can be restored to full 200m water resistance?
Any other advice on the care and feeding of this little beauty will be considered, whether or not solicited.

Hey there. Not sure if you still need someone to do some work, but I'd be willing to do it. And yes, it can be restored to 200m, and maybe even better. I've taken a $10 watch and changed the gaskets and o rings, and got it to 200m...

Does it have a screw down crown? Thinner tube than normal watches?
