i've noticed an increasing aversion to tachymeters over the last few months. it seemed to start about the time that someone posted a picture of a speedie with the 200 in the wrong place on the bezel and it's got worse ever since. it's particularly bad with outer bezels. the inner bezels seem to cause less of a reaction. anyone else similarly afflicted ...

Yes, not with tachymeters in general but I can't stop checking them because of the bad ones out there. When ever I see a picture of a tachymeter I have to check if it's correct. Man, I wish I was still ignorant :-d

in order to try to understand why i'm not too taken with tachymeters, i thought i'd look at a speedie tachymeter from the point of view of how i'd layout the markings. my thinking on this is threfold:
1) could have put 95 in writing.
2) could have used 220, 240, 260, 280 instead of 225, 250, 275.
3) could have skipped the word tachymeter to include further markings.
but even after that i suspect i'd still not be too keen.
