Geneva, 5 December 2013 - For the past six years, the Salon International de la HauteHorlogerie has marked the beginning of the watchmaking year. Raising the curtain on thenew directions in Fine Watchmaking, this international gathering remains a private andexclusive event for the sector's professionals.

Once again this year, the SIHH takes up residence at Palexpo, just a few minutes fromGeneva Airport. Some 13,000 visitors will enjoy the hushed surroundings covering 30,000square metres of space.

Fine Watchmaking will again demonstrate its age-old expertise through innovation andcraftsmanship, beautifully executed by each of the 16 exhibiting Maisons. Next-generationtechnology rubs shoulders with the métiers d'art in timepieces whose refinement is thatwhich, for centuries, has distinguished the finest technical and precious watchmaking.

In honour of Fine Watchmaking's historical and cultural contributions, the SIHH will stage, forthe first time in Switzerland, "Horology, a child of astronomy." Through the various objects ondisplay, this exhibition tells how watchmakers have succeeded in capturing the infinitely vastin the confines of a timepiece through the addition of astronomical complications.

An exclusive partnership offers guests priority travel on Geneva's public transport.

As fascinating as ever, Fine Watchmaking's remarkable creative freedom will, without doubt,be in evidence at the SIHH 2014.
