So this guy pops up in my recommendations recently, he is a watch dealer who vlogs his day to day life as the tries to grow his already seemingly successful business and entertains the idea of a Netflix series based on him, he seems like a nice enough guy, but what's the catch here, is this just another lifestyle channel selling itself as a success story only this time the background is watches as opposed to fashion or gaming etc.

Looks like pure drivel.
I am a fan of Jodi on just one more watch, with the exception of a couple of modders and restorers, he is the only watch channel I watch because his price point is (almost) always below my limit.

This recently popped up on my recommendations as well. I assumed he was just another macho watch grifter but there's actually something a bit more compelling about their day-in-the-life format. Gets a bit samey quite quickly but harmless enough.

Better off watching YouPorn - it’s far more entertaining!

I watched a few episodes. In one of them he tells his story—a two-time felon who spent time in prison and is trying the watch dealer thing now—and kudos for being up front about it.

It does show a bit of the reality of gray market dealers getting their products. There was one with a phone call with a “supplier” and how they haggled how much to pay. The supplier was an anonymous person (to the audience anyway) who “has a good relationship with ADs” and who was capitalizing on his purchase prices to get profit margins with the gray market (i.e. this YouTuber). (The brand in question was Rolex.)

If I recall, his criminal history was something to do with fraud, forgery, etc. which makes me wonder about the intent of transparency with this channel.

I never heard of him before.

I'm listening to that episode now. FWIW, he really is putting his past out there.

I have been doing a great deal of research with YouPorn attempting to identify watches worn. I think I need to watch more as I can not identify any to date.

Pretty much JOMW or The Time Teller. They seems to have a similar mindset to mine.

AKA value over label and the occassional fun turd because life needs whimsey.

I'll be honest, I've been addicted to his latest weekly 1 hour "shows". Kinda like Pawn Stars for luxury watches I guess. Now I do wonder how much of this is accurate in terms of the grey market business and how much of it is for show. But I've learned some interesting stuff.

It's just some guy making bank selling overpriced watches to people with more money than sense. I mean, respect to him for making a solid living from it, but it's not really something I'm interested in seeing myself.

The whole "luxury lifestyle" aspect of watch collecting in general is something that doesn't appeal to me at all.

I watch every video, but to be fair I may like his channel for the same reason some like Jenni Elle ...

If he is a reformed fraudster good for him for trying the right side of the street. If he admitted to two counts of questionable activity, he'd have to flag that these days as somebody will discover it in pretty quick time. Get out in front of any repetitional damage. Not somewhere I'd be handing over any cash.

It looks like a show where their every thought leads to them jumping on a jet-ski, going to the gym or stopping in front of a mirror. "Let's have a meeting Ted - OK Jim I'll get the parachutes ready" Building a business can involving big blocks of boring, so I suspect that with an hour to fill, they start their week manufacturing 'drama'. Interesting to see if they think they're in showbiz or the watch-biz as they use pretty good production values.

I say this every time Jody and JOMW are mentioned: he's by far my favorite watch "personality." He's witty and has a great, unpretentious, on-air presence. It's just too bad the watches he reviews tend to sit at the bottom of the barrel.
