TimeMachinePlus.com - A Heads Up

I recently looked into purchasing a Longines at this online store. They advertise they are an "authorized retailer" and that "all orders come with a manufacturer's warranty." They also state on their web site that the watches come "direct from the manufacturer with MANUFACTURER BACKED WARRANTY."

In an email, the company wrote: "As a proud Authorized Retailer of every single global watch brand we carry on our watch shop, we are pleased to ONLY stock 100% Authentic products which include a manufacturer backed warranty always FREE OF CHARGE. Also, if you ever need to confirm our Authorized Retailer status with any of the brands we carry, you can always call our brand partners directly and ask them about TimeMachinePlus.com and mention Komail [who apparently is an owner]. Trust me; they love us too!"

There were statements on the web site and in emails that caused me to contact Longines, as their email above suggested I do. In an online chat with a Longines representative, I was told Time Machine Plus was not an authorized dealer. I then filled out a form online, asking Longines the same question - is TimeMachinePlus.com an authorized dealer? Longines wrote back with a list of online companies that are "authorized retailers." TimeMachinePlus.com was not on that list.

EDIT: @asmd reports below:
"They are ADs for Oris, Rado.... checked out on oris and Rado sites.

Wonder if they lost Longiness AD status. Or something..."

Their prices sent in an email were very good. And, as best I could tell by browsing various sites, I would get a new watch. But the watch I was considering was not terribly expensive so that the discount, while good on a percentage basis, would only save me a little over $400, which I could easily spend if something went wrong with the watch. Longines provides a 5-year warranty for its automatic watches. Then there is the comfort factor. If the site had advertised it is grey market, I would be more comfortable dealing with them.

The only time I caught a cold on a grey market purchase was when I went to trade the watch against another, and lost around 10% as it officially was without papers…..the original card was substituted with a Dealer issued warranty card from the grey.

So the 10% I saved up front was wiped out.

I was actually interested in this company as their business address is in my city - though its a virtual address as they are online based. Though, them throwing around "Authorized Retailer" (possibly a loophole from stating they are an "Authorized Dealer") isn't a great impression.

Reminds me of "Formulated in the USA" crap.

I know I'm not that active here, you have no reason to take my word for it, but this outfit is GTG. I'm willing to privately share my details with interested parties.

I purchased a Longines Spirit Zulu Time earlier this year from this company based on searching for AD, deals, grey market, etc, and actually stumbled on this thread in that process. I decided to buy on them eventually based on this thread. (Which is why I felt compelled to revive my log in and share my experience).

I received my Spirit Zulu Time with full papers including a stamped warranty card from Time Machine Plus (at a great price).

Fast forward to this past August, and in the middle of an overseas trip, I gave my watch a very hard drop and it was stopped dead in its tracks. I could hear parts moving around inside.

I followed the repair process of Swatch Group USA and sent my watch to the Miami facility describing exactly how it had been damaged. I did NOT expect it to be covered under warranty and was willing to pay to have my new watch restored.

In any case, after submitting my watch to SGUS with a copy of the warranty card from Time Machine Plus, SGUS completely repaired the watch and returned it to me under warranty! It took a good month and a half or so, but I needless to say, I was extremely happy with the service.

The ultimate point is that Time Machine Plus is an AD as evidenced by SGUS honoring their stamped warranty card. I'll admit that I was a little nervous buying from a dealer online vice locally claiming AD, but here we are.

Again, I'm happy to provide that evidence privately with interested parties. I'm not a shill for this company, I'm simply confirming my experience.

Take it or leave it.
