I figure since there is an Expedition Appreciation thread that there should also be an Ironman thread too. I picked this one up the other day on a whim, it is a Timex Ironman T5K198.

Timex Ironman Rugged 30 T5K7939J, I got this for my self with the hopes of getting my younger son to wear his Baby G that has been collecting dust. Well... it kinda of backfired... he is still not wearing his Baby G....
he is now wearing the Ironman and he prefers it to the G. So it formally now belongs to him. I love the negative display which to me it is not hard to see; and I like the reverse Indiglo feature.

So now the replacement is the same Rugged 30 but with a different color scheme that was just put up at the TX ebay store ($22.99) also with a negative display. =)

I was also looking to buy a Purple Baby G for my wife; look and look and look for hours. The very few that I found she did not like. When I showed her the TW5K89700 she liked the color. And we she got her, she loves the feel and big Digits easy to see.

Great watch. And the price in ebay is just bonkers good. And I don't see what is the problem with the'can't see neg display' argument. I can see it pretty well all around.

NATOS work great and do the trick. Same fix for this 10+ year old Ironman that the band just desintegrated.

the very thin ones less than 1.3mm will do just fine. For easy reference, the ones that sell 4 for 10 bucks are usually perfect as they are thinner and shorter.

I bought this as I was tempted by the prize. But the quality is inferior to those that sell higher. However, they are perfect for a True Beater.

See the Ironman on this one. it is actually at 20mm that force fitted into the 18mm lug. Thinner than 1.3 mm. perhaps close to 1.1mm but hard to tell to the naked eye. However, as I experience trying to fit a good quality < 1.5mm into the Gallatin; it proved very difficult. So these made the trick.
