The instruction manual that came with my Timex T5K399 doesn't state explicitly which time source is used for the alarm function. I'm assuming it's the time set for timezone 1 - can anyone confirm this? Other options are: a) the time displayed on the digital face (which could be either timezone 1 or timezone 2) or b) the time set separately on the analogue hands (unlikely).

Some experimentation has revealed that it is in fact option a) - the alarm works off whatever digital time is displayed, be it T1 or T2.

Good work. That watch looks cool and I need another digital for training. Is it possible to turn off the digital display completely?

It is indeed - simply press and hold the bottom-right button to switch the display off, repeat to bring back on.

Yes, I'm pleased with my purchase. It does look cool yet it's practical also, and seems sturdily built... Here in the UK, though, I probably paid a little too much for it (as we do with most electronic goods!). I would hope in the US you'd be able to get it for a more realistic price.
