This is a very special Tissot from the mid- to late-1970s. It is completely automatic and running strong. Fully original, with original dial, etc. and even the original signed crown. The case is right around 37mm wide (possibly 38mm, not including the crown) and 43mm from lug to lug. Definitely a good size for a vintage piece.
I bought as a gift for my father-in-law, but my wife likes a more modern watch on him (we're getting him an Orient Explorer dual-time). So, it is now on the chopping block. It comes on a new rally-style strap with white stitching, which I really like for this particular model (despite the fact that it is of nautical provenance, at least by name). Reminds me of a vintage Triumph Bonneville when you put it all together. The face is a very sexy midnight blue color, which is hard to pick up with the camera. If you're not familiar with this color from the world of menswear, it's essentially a blue that is so rich and dark that it can appear blacker than black (especially in artificial light, in which most of us find ourselves primarily in this modern world). Anyway, it is a great-looking watch, built in Switzerland by Tissot before it became part of the big corporate monstrosity that we know today from our trips to the mall. It will last you, with proper maintenance, for the rest of your life.
