Hi guys
came across this today at a decent dealer
What a stunning looking watch - Speedmaster MkII with Racing dial
Model from 70's - so 50yrs old!!!!
Case/bracelet all looked nice n clean n sharp edges
the dial/hands/insert looked immaculate
do you think it's a new dial?

My father in law has one of these. His is scratched up, crystal especially. This one looks super clean. Hope you bought it!

I Googled and it seems there are others out there with nice dials. Maybe they just held up well? I am not sure they are counterfeiting those (yet)...

Good enough for Christies good enough for us! LOL Sold for $4,000 in 2016.

nah - just held n looked at case back - wound n activated chrono
sweet piece - if all parts period an amazing survivor - it really popped
I dont have knowledge to know if it was refinished n redialed etc
vendor said he bought it as being nr mint old stock

Ah didn't know you held it. Thought it was seller pic.

The dial looks NOS. The case looks NOS. I’ve just never seen an example of this model in this clean a condition that wasn’t a watchco-type of parts watch.

One of my favourites, I liked their re release of that beauty.

It almost looks too good to be true.
Yep, I think the dial looks suspiciously fresh. Even a NOS dial will age with time, unless kept in a dark, climate controlled vault.

didnt grab, but was tempted - but it just looked tooo good for 50yrs ?
