Got fed up with being a Garmin beta tester. Took my Fenix 3 back to REI this afternoon and swapped it for an Ambit3 Peak. Looking forward to my workout tomorrow.
Hope you enjoy it, be sure to ask questions here if you have them!Got fed up with being a Garmin beta tester. Took my Fenix 3 back to REI this afternoon and swapped it for an Ambit3 Peak. Looking forward to my workout tomorrow.
Exactly the same for me. Made the switch about a month ago and couldn't be happier. The Ambit3 "just works!"Got fed up with being a Garmin beta tester. Took my Fenix 3 back to REI this afternoon and swapped it for an Ambit3 Peak. Looking forward to my workout tomorrow.
I will second morey000 and add that there are ways to achieve functions on the watch that are not obvious as well. Quite a few smart folks on the forum that can help you with feature issues if you have them. Plus there are apps for doing just about everything, it can be difficult to find the good ones.give yourself a few weeks to get used to the new interface. It will all make sense after a while. Back in my Garmin days, I loved my watches, and became an expert in dealing with all it's problems. I learned all the tricks on how to get it working again.
With the Ambit- you don't need to know any tricks. As elegantly stated above, it "just works". It's a pleasure to have such a complex and fully featured instrument, also be 100% reliable.
and then, give yourself a month or more to get used to movescount. In a lot of ways- it's better than Garmin Connect, but it's features are not all intuitively obvious.
Congrats on your weight loss. Hopefully a fine watch like the Ambit will inspire you to stay on the right track and continue to improve your fitness level. I know it does for me.Thanks to all. I did my first workout this morning and everything seemed to be spot on. Honestly, I'm just a average old guy who has gotten back into the fitness routine after many years of sitting around getting fat. I do a 6 or so mile walk everyday, and I ride my bike several times a week. I've lost 120 pounds over the last year. I didn't use my Fenix 3 for any special training, and I don't plan on using my Ambit 3 for any either. I just wanted the best watch out there to keep track of my workouts. After this mornings walk, and taking some time today to get to know the Ambit 3, I think I have found what I was looking for.
Cheers
Congrats man! I'm 10 lbs down in a journey to lose 120 lbs myself. Only 110 more to go! I certainly plan on using my Ambit 3, probably Traverse, and most likely Ambit 4 along the way as well!I've lost 120 pounds over the last year.
Congratulations on that! I am an old crazy guy, who decided to start ultra marathons a few years ago. It allows me to eat anything I want but some will think the exercise is extreme, including my wifeThanks to all. I did my first workout this morning and everything seemed to be spot on. Holy ****! you've almost lost a whole me! Congratulations, and welcome to your new lifestyle. don't ever stop.... I've lost 120 pounds over the last year. ...
Whoa, right. Seeing pounds, I didn't notice, but it's also almost a whole me. Don't forget, though, it's not (just) about weight - but you are moving, so you're on the right track there, tooHoly ....! you've almost lost a whole me! I hear ya on that. I started using MyFitnessPal last year around the same time I started walking. I have logged in every day, and I try my hardest to follow the goals in the app (really tought to stay under the sodium limit). I had my physical a couple months ago, and everything was great, except my BMI. I'm 6'4", but only have a 32" inseam. All my weight is in my torso, so the BMI charts are off on my. It's been a great adventure. I look forward to getting up every morning and getting out for a walk or bike ride!!!Whoa, right. Seeing pounds, I didn't notice, but it's also almost a whole me.
