New member here. While taking in the view I stumbled upon this quite new Swedish brand. I own a couple of watches and have grown so fond of the sweeping motion of automatics, that quartz movements just won't do the trick (or 'tick', hah..) for me anymore.

Sadly, none of the watches Triwa offers features an automatic movement, yet I absolutely love the look of them. Can anyone point me in the direction of watch brands that have a similar appearance but do feature an automatic movement?

You might get more responses if you gave more criteria, which would narrow the search.

First, what's your price limit?

Secondly, what are the specific things about this design you like?

Third, what sort of features are you looking for, specifically, i.e. the crystal material, water resistance, strap or bracelet, color, Swiss-Made or other point of origin, etc? It would help if you knew the common terms used for some of the design elements (chapter ring, indices, rehaut, guilloche dial, knurled crown, etc).

You may not be aware of this, but if you search for this model on Google Shopping, you may see some of the results offer the option to see visually similar watches, which will frequently show watches from a wide range of prices.

You may want to edit your original post to include more info.

Also, generally speaking, bumping a recommendation thread less than an hour after posting it won't endear you to other forum members, as it seems somewhat impatient/demanding, particularly from someone who just joined and has almost no posts.

From some people's perspective, it's a bit tiresome to see new members show up, and before participating in the forum in any meaningful way, your first post is a "Help me find" thread, with incredibly broad criteria. It's like a complete stranger walking up to a group of people and saying, "Hey, all you watch-geeks, you know more than I do, and I don't feel like spending my time browsing the interwebs, so you do it for me, since your time is worthless..."

People here are generally pretty helpful, more so if you take the time to ask specific questions, provide necessary details, show some understanding that this is a community of enthusiasts who come here to discuss watches, not hang around hoping someone asks us to do their shopping for them.

The pattern in the centre of the dial (guilloche dial, looking the terms up as I go) looks very attractive and I'm quite the fan of subtle gold accents (like the indices and the knurled crown are, I presume)

Swiss made would be very nice, but I'm afraid that's hard to find considering my criteria and low budget. Sapphire crystal prefered.

No worries. You're like the 8765th newbie in a row to do it. None of them were shot, as far as I know.

I'm probably wrong, but at the lower price range, I don't think there are any "true" guilloche dials (texture added by precise machining, rather than pressed into the dial during printing), but there are a number of dials with interesting textures or patterns just the same.

Likewise, "Swiss Made" can be an ambiguous term at the lower price ranges. Many (including me) believe that all "Swiss Made" means at this price range is "Chinese parts assembled in Switzerland". Debates about it will no doubt rage for years to come, but many here would argue that below $600, there's not going to be an appreciable quality difference between Swiss watches and others, and in fact some would argue you'll get better bang for the buck with an Asian-made watch in that range.

If you like Roman numerals you might like the Tissot LeLocle. If not, check out the Melbourne Watch Company Flinders. If you only like them a little, check out the Melbourne Parkville.

If you like something a little more sporty, you might like the Cerberus from my brand. It doesn't have a lot in common with that Triwa at first blush, but they share some geometry - concentric rings on the dial, straight markers, etc. You may also want to check out the Seiko SARX line, which have a couple of models with textured dials, and are very good values. Also take a look at watches from the Orient brand, which I know has at least a few textured dials.

As previously suggested, you might also like the Aevig Valkyr, particularly for its rose-gold accented markers.

If you don't mind something a little less ornate, with some Arabic numerals, check out the Mercer Brigadier.

All of the above can be purchased within your $600 budget.

Getting back to the open question of quality vs. features at this price point, there are a number of very well-made watches from China which have some similar design elements. I'd recommend you check out Times International website. I think the forum software won't let the URL be posted, but it's "good HYPHEN stuffs DOT com". The proprietor, Jun Liao, has a generally good reputation here as a seller, although there have been some instances where he was slow to ship or respond to communications. I think most would agree he's honest, though. The best part is most of his watches are under $300, and offer very good value.

I see what you did there ;-) (The Parville sizing is "classic" by men's standards --- read small in 2015. It also doubles as a unisex/ladies watch. ;-) )

Actually, I was referring to the fact the Parkville only has 4 Roman numerals, as compared to the LeLocle's 12.
