TUDOR Pelagos LHD watch - m25610tnl-0001 | TUDOR Watch

#2 · (Edited)
I'm really enjoying the new Tudor Pelagos LHD

The changes Tudor made include:

  • PELAGOS Model Name in Red
  • Reverse Case Orientation & Left Hand Crown
  • Macchiato Color Markers & Hands
  • "Roulette" Red/Black Calendar Disk
  • Numbered Edition Engraved Caseback
  • In-House MT5612-LHD Movement

Added to the existing Pelagos Model line which already has:

  • Clear & Legible Dial and Hands
  • 500m Water-Resistance
  • Helium Escape Valve
  • Lightweight Titanium Case & Bracelet
  • Ceramic Bezel Insert
  • Unique Spring Auto-Adjustable Dive Clasp

Combine into a very interesting timepiece with a fantastic value proposition. I think the modifications Tudor made really changes the personality of the watch. It also wears really well on a variety of dive straps, like the included Tudor Rubber Strap or an Isofrane RS, given the standardized 22mm lugs.

More interesting points: Tudor Pelagos LHD Ref. 25610TNL Owner's Thread

Here are a few more interesting points on the Tudor Pelagos LHD:

  • The calendar disc, Macchiato in color as well, comes in a new design, with its numbers displayed in alternate colors: the even days are displayed in red and the odd in black. This aesthetic detail, nicknamed "roulette" by collectors, was especially characteristic of TUDOR divers' watches with its dial and "snowflake" hands that first appeared in reference 7021 in 1969
  • The vintage predecessor of the Pelagos LHD is the Tudor Reference 9401 - a dive watch made for left-handed divers in the French Navy circa 1981
  • MT5612-LHD movement is a variant of the Tudor manufactured movement developed specifically for the Pelagos LHD model
  • MT5612-LHD movement is COSC-certified as a chronometer but COSC tested the MT5612-LHD movement in different positions than they would a 'right-handed' watch due to the "left-handed" crown
  • MT5612-LHD movement has a 70-hour power reserve and a silicon balance spring allowing the watch to sit for a weekend and remain functioning at the start of the work week
  • Titanium unidirectional rotatable 60-minute graduated bezel has a ceramic insert that matches the Macchiato color of the markers/hands which all glow blue in the dark
  • The case is water resistant to 500 meters but is tested by Tudor 125% further down to 625 meters for added safety
  • The unique production number engraved on the case back is a first for Tudor

It's funny Tudor advertised the watch as "for those who like it RIGHT." Introducing the Pelagos LEFT hand diver lol.
That's the thing, though. It's for people who are left-handed, i.e. more likely to wear the watch on their right wrist. (Since it's guaranteed that the proportion of left-handers who wear their watch on the right wrist - plenty of them - is higher than the proportion of right-handers who wear their watch on their right wrist - which is almost none of them)

2/3rds of the world's population drives on the right, in left-hand drive cars. It's not confusing, it's just how the terminology has developed.

Thanks for the feedback. I always find with a new release it's hard to find wrist shots especially on different straps so I wanted to post photos up to share.

I love the auto-adjustable bracelet (which is surprisingly light not to mention an engineering marvel) and the Tudor rubber strap, which with the integrated end links looks great and is comfortable, but there's something that works so perfectly with the Pelagos on an Isofrane. I think it's the square cutouts on the strap which compliment the square dial markers and snowflake hands on the watch - it's my choice!

I've always been a fan of the Tudor Pelagos Owner Thread and I look forward to Pelagos LHD owners posting information, insights, reviews, & photos!

Best wishes!

Very nice! I wish that Tudor would do away with the date feature!

I've never been compelled to buy a watch so impulsively; about 3 days from seeing this model to buying it!

I already have a 2 liner, but was won over by the aesthetics - particularly the off-white 'vintage' lume (I always found the previous black / white contrast a bit too stark and toy-like). I'm also a big fan of the red accents - love the red subs and I enjoy the roulette date-wheel too - stops days tumbling into each other just that little bit more [emoji6]

The fact that 'pelagos' is in red undoes the 'war and peace' criticism of the 2nd gen to my eye.

70hr power reserve / in house movement is a bonus, for perhaps a millimetre gain in thickness, which seems a fair trade.

The final clincher was the numbered case-back, which suggests that numbers 1 to 999 could be quite collectible, and I simply didn't want to miss out.

Overall it's classy looking, fun and 'tool' all at the same time, which is pretty rare in the watch world IME..

Looks great on the Omega mesh too

Finally I love the fact that it looks good without screaming 'money' [emoji57]

Calv1n,

I totally understand your reaction to the watch and in many ways I had the same reaction. I actually had made the decision some time ago that my collection would be 4 watches and I had picked the the 4th one about a month ago. One of the 4 is still on order (new Omega Planet Ocean) but that would do it. Then I saw the promo on the Tudor site and got curious.

Anyway, I saw the photo on the Tudor website and had to go see the watch in person. They had one in a store near me and told me it was sold but let me look at it. From that point on, I knew I wanted the watch and many of the reasons were what you stated. I ended up selling one of my current collection to fit in the Tudor LHD and that is the end of the story. I have had it on my wrist for the last week. By the way, the other two watches I own, the Omega Seamaster 300 Co-Axial and the Tudor Black Bay Bronze keep exceptional time (2 seconds a day) and this LHD has been dead on accurate after a week.

In a way, this kind of an impulse buy always makes me wonder whether the enjoy factor will last but this watch has so many appealing characteristics to it that I can't help thinking that it will. Stephen

Hi Calv1n, Welcome to LHD! I felt the same way: I saw it in the Tudor release photos and I knew I wanted to try it on - then on the wrist at my AD it was an instant purchase. The changes are subtle but add just enough interest while keeping the tool nature of the watch. Thanks for sharing your perspectives and photos. The shark mesh looks awesome. Congratulations!
