Evening all,

I'm looking to purchase my first Russian watch shortly but have two questions before I pull the trigger.

1. I believe a lot (most?) Vostok bezels are actually brass underneath. I'm particularly interest in the classic diver bezel with the black and red dots. Am I to expect galvanic corrosion at some point in the future of the watch gets banged up a bit?

2. I am contemplating an aftermarket bezel and insert for a 670 cased Vostok and would love something like the picture below. There's something about the black insert with white quarter that I really like. Can someone point me in the direction of how to source the parts? I think people often get a bezel which can accommodate SKX inserts which may be more readily available bit I'm not sure how this works with the particular case I want.

Apologies if the bezel question is not in the right forum, just thought it might be best here as both questions are related.

You can get all kind of bezels for vostok at dagaz (www.dagazwatch.com)

Thanks FF, I see the bezel insert that I was asking about. I just need to find the bezel now.

After a bit if research it appears not many aftermarket bezel insert suppliers list the 670 case, even on original Vostok bezels. I'm thinking the 670 might be the same as other Amphibias as Meranom lists that the classic bezel 42 fits and they've got to be right, right?

I saw those, they just don't list the 670 as compatible but like you I think it should fit too. I'm just hoping someone can chime in and confirm.

Meranom offers these universal Vostok bezels although not exactly the color you want. Just out of curiosity, why does it have to be the 670 case? I only ask because it's relatively new and doesn't seem to be quite as popular as some of the other cases. They will change dials if you want.

I've seen those already but thanks for the suggestion. I was originally thinking about one of those bezels but there seems to be a lot more variety going aftermarket.

I like the 670s shape and size but a big factor was the 20mm lug width as this looks best on my wrist plus I have a load of 20mm straps already. Interesting to know it's fairly new, I didn't know that.

Vostok as of last year has replaced all of their Amphibian chromed brass bezels with identical stainless steel versions. Be wary that some sellers may still have the older models, so double check descriptions or contact the seller directly to ensure you get the new bezels. As they are stainless steel the only corrosion you can expect would for example be rusting if you leave salt water trapped under the bezel for long periods.

The dotted bezel you're referring to is this one here: https://meranom.com/en/amphibian-classic/spare-parts/bezels/vostok-watch-bezel-42.html

Thanks Arizone!

I've just ordered my first Russian watch (Vostok) and have bought it direct from Meranom.

I checked the bezel description and you were right, stainless steel.

The 670 case is not always included in lists of bezel sizes because it is relatively new and the lists have not been updated.

General rule: if 420 is in the list, the bezel will fit ALL cases.
Thats what I figured after seeing the bezel 42 list the 670 on Meranom and not other suppliers.

Great tip, thanks for the help!
