I am more a mechanical watch person cos I hate the idea of running out of battery and the need to change it. But I don't mind having a least one digital quartz watch in my collection hence a G-shock GR-9000-A7 with tough solar which I bought 2 years back.

However, 3 weeks ago I stumbled upon the Gravitymaster GPW-1000 and the I was totally smitten. I was awed by the look and love its GPS sync capability. Within a week I have one on my wrist. But thereon I could not stop visiting G-Shock website and now I have another 3 watches incoming from Japan - A G-5600E-1JF, GW-M5610B-1JF (the history of this model kept growing on me) and a BGA-180-7B2JF (for the wifey to calm her down a bit especially after such a splurge).

Even before they arrive, I found myself looking at various sites for possibly a Rangeman (with its Triple Sensor). Suddenly, it hits me that this has gone a little out of hand and need to keep in check.

Has anyone gone through this?

I'd say pretty much everyone here has gone through that. My bout of acquisition disorder has only recently subsided. My favorite line of G-Shocks are of the DW-5000 variety, and I've been trying to acquire as many variants of the original as I reasonably can.

Glad to know that I'm not alone.

Well, if I had a GPW-1000 I would never wear another watch. BUT, since I will never have that expensive of a watch, I'm searching far and wide for which G shock I do want. I have spent the past 5 days reading these forums, watching videos, and looking at pictures of all the beautiful g shocks people have. I have the desire for some pretty bad just like you, except I'm doing more changing of my mind than buying xD Havn't bought one yet. Maybe I'll get the all black GW2310, maybe I'll get the olive rangeman, maybe I'll wait to find a good deal on a negative display black rangeman. I don't know, but I can't stop researching... I am hooked.

Plenty of us have -- it's hard to stop at just one or two G's!

That's probably a good thing for your wallet -- a lot of us have found and bought "the perfect G-Shock," hung around here, seen more models and learned more about them, bought another one that's even better, seen and learned some more, bought ANOTHER one that's even better yet...over and over again. :-d

Sometimes I wish I'd only bought about half as many watches since I got here. ;-)

kid you not, just this morning, as I sat down adjusting my G's to the new DTS I had a sickening feeling looking the squares (5600 if you don't know) that I have, more than 10, I asked myself I don't need all that - why there are 4 black ones with different color at the displays ? ain't no one can tell the different but me and the f17 regulars ? it's so sick, I have 2 wrists and only need a g to tell time ... and there are more than 20 G's waiting (luckily all the atomic synced)

but then I when i sat down in front of my laptop, I found myself tracking another incoming square, and planing another mod for it

Totally agree with you. We only have 2 hands, even so, one can only wear one at a time without looking stupid or crazy. However, being a WIS the desire and urge to get more will never cease.

Eric ... Eric ... Eric ... sit down & relax !!! :):):)

You do not have a problem! You are acting perfectly normal !!! :)

Your question caused me to go way back to Feb. 1st (this year) when I bought my first 'G' in response to a post by Geopro, who

had just received his new beige & brown 'Men in Military Colors' MudMan. Just 'had' to have one. :)

(I'd had 2 'G's & a Casio over the previous 30 years & they were all in various drawers & hadn't been worn for at least three years.)

Thanks to you, I just reviewed the 'What have you got incoming in 2015' thread dating back to Feb. 1st.

In February, there were 39 posts for new acquisitions. Six of those were mine !!!

So far in March, there have been 34 posts for new purchases ... nine!!! :-d of those have been mine! :):):)

That excludes the other six that I haven't posted yet!! :)

You're not crazy Eric ... just normal ... so far !!! ;-);-);-)

I bought 5 watches in 2 weeks, thats how I knew I had a new addiction. They were not g shocks though, they were autos. I do however have a few G shocks, for specific purposes. Welcome to a healthy addiction... as long as you spend wisely.

Hi John - I feel so much better now that I'm certainly not alone and certainly not the most seriously afflicted by this ailment ;-);-);-). So how many watches did you actually buy this year?

Like you, I like my auto watches too but I could only afford to buy one piece every other year if not longer as the brands that I like are pretty big ticket item (at least to me). So it was pretty much controllable but with the G-Shocks, relatively are much more affordable but the urge to get yet another piece every so often knowing that it won't break the bank is unhealthy!

This is my watch box before I started collecting more G-Shocks! I don't have any space for the incoming.

LOL Eric, wait until you see how many G-Shocks Sjors has. Or even Yankeexpress for that matter.

I tried to find the old thread showing a running total of how many G-Shocks each of us active members have but could not. We really need to have that thread brought back to life and updated.

With that thread you can, because we have all done it, show your wife that buying three watches at once is not a bad thing. I always tell my wife: (yelling back over my shoulder from my laptop) "At least I don't have as many watches as Sjor has."

AFFLICTED! ??? :roll::-d

I'm only at 24 ... that's less than one-a-day ! :-d

Went for the less expensive Krazy Colors this past weekend. Past that, the focus is on the Rangeman & the Frogman.

I'll probably let the Mudman go soon & 'watch' out for Rangemen & Frogmen that I don't already have.

So despite the 'binge', I'm pretty much settled now ... believe it or not! Don't know if I want the new Camo Rangeman, but I'll probably do it.

And, I like the green one coming in June.

Overall, four to post still & that's pretty much it unless I see a lime green one that I 'really' like. :):-d:)

I could have got a 2nd Breitling ... or all these G-Shocks ... the G-Shock thing has been more 'Fun'.
(& I'll be getting rid of most of my Divers)
