I recently purchased this Universal Geneve dial and movement from a guy who purchased it from a gold scrapper. My wish is to re-case it in the same or a similar case. But I can not find any reference to this watch anywhere, so information would be greatly appreciated. It is 42 calibre, dial size 29.6. Regards Gary
Do they call movements whose case has been melted down orphans? Seems appropriate.
My watchmaker has a gazillion old watches. He gets them out and starts looking when trying to find a case match. It is rare for parts houses to carry cases.
I have the exact same watch in museum condition. From my understanding there was only 12 of these watches ever made. Highly rare. I would like to find out more information about it. If anyone knows some insight, please share. I just created my tv account, not sure how to post pics yet. Someone fill me in or ill figure it out and post later. Thx

Old thread but it really upsets me when things like this are de-cased for a quick profit on the gold. Do people have no sense of anything but money?
