This thread belongs to shnjb in the High-end forum but I'm thinking.. why not post 1 poll like this in the Public Forum as well? (I hope he doesnt mind!)

If you're interested, here's the link to the original thread over in the High-end Forum

https://www.watchuseek.com/f381/what-value-your-current-watch-collection-931537.html

Anyway, since it's now in the Public Forum instead, I guess the poll value options has to be scaled down as well.
Likewise, let's base the value of your watches at the point of purchase.

And rest assured, the polls maintain anonymity for the pollers so please, go ahead and vote.

Value meaning what, insured value? MSRP when each piece was new? What you personally paid for it when you bought it new or second hand?

I think the bandings might be a bit low. $15k isn't much in this hobby.

I'm not sure why or how this info would be of any use to anyone.

Let's just say it is priceless :-d

Thanks pal. Now I'm going to be wondering how I managed to spend over $6K on Seikos alone (and that's what I paid for them, I bought half of them from forum members right here under various old usernames), totally ignoring all the Germans and the couple of Swiss that found their way into the watch box, yikes, I coulda bought a car. And forget the PWs as well!

Ah well, a hundred years ago I'd probably have died before I got to age 40. Life is good nowadays if you like toys, my watches make me smile (he says whilst admiring the Stowa MO dial) and I like 'em all even if they did cost a bundle together.

Heck, I know guys that spend more on coke in a year than I've ever spent on watches. My ten-to-fifteen-grand is penny-ante stuff, hardly worth noticing unless you're like me. Probably two-thirds of members here have spent more on their collections than I have (although to be fair I am a pauper next to many here, it is an affluent forum).

The upper limit of 15k is way too low even in the public forum...
I propose a new poll that might result in a somewhat normally distributed curve.

500k+
350-500k
200-350k
100-200k
60-100k
30k-60k
15-30k
8-15k
4-8k
2-4k
