Hi need some info on Octagonal Rolex Oyster. Busy looking at this seller wants$1500 is it worth it ?
Rolex Watch Vintage Mens Oyster Circa 1926 (1st year that the Rolex "Oyster" model was launched and the world's 1st waterproof, airtight wristwatch) White porcelain dial, Arabic outline and shadow hour markers, sub seconds dial 6 arcs 10-60, railroad minute track, skeleton hands, "Rolex Oyster" in arc above sub dial, not quite concentric (superb condition for its age). Serrated outer bezel. Plastic crystal. Rolex Crown (later vintage). Rolex "Prima" Movement. Aftermarket Crocodile Strap. Fully Serviced by Rolex (see reference engravings inner caseback photo). Perfect working order. A rare piece of Rolex heritage and watchmaking history.A very rare Rolex watch of interest to serious vintage watch collectors only. Sold as per photographs with no box and papers (for obvious reasons).

That seems just a little on the high side, IMHO. There are quite a few of these still around. The movt is an Aegler, and they owned part of the company at the time, along with Gruen. Historically speaking, a good example of an important watch, although the hands may not be correct. Maybe a Rolex expert will chime in.
