Found at an estate sale for $1 today. I know nothing about G Shock but when I picked it up it felt nice and heavy so I figured it must be one of the old, nicer models. Got it home and in my ignorance went to scrub it down with a toothbrush, unaware of the crumbly resin issue... here's what's left of it:

Is anyone familiar with a source for replacement bezels for these? Sucks to have shot the collectability on this one in the span of about 10 seconds but you live and learn I suppose. Might as well wear it now if I can find a repro bezel.

Hey congrats! That’s a great vintage find. Sucks about the bezel though.

On ebay you can get replacement bezels for vintage G DW5600s from a Brazilian seller that I can’t remember the name right now. But if you do a search they will come up. They’ve been doing it for years.

Another option is here in the WUS forums. Electric0ant is a member here who also produces bezels for the vintage DW5600s. I don’t have hands on experiences with his product, but by all accounts and from the pictures they look great.

Hope that helps.
