Two weeks after I won the auction from the bay, I finally have my winning item:

Production Year: 1964
Domed Crystal
Hand-winding Capability
Shock Resistant
Anti-Magnetic
Waterproof (I highly doubt this)

And the pseudo wrist shot (since I can't wait):

Truly a great vintage piece for a steal!

Will continue to hunt down some more snipe-worthy pieces in the future.

TFL! :)

Know what moving it has?
I'm thinking likely something around a Standard Time/Master Tine, which I believe was a branch of inexpensive Seiko production. Someone else may have to confirm, though.

Hi Hartmut,

Probably a derivative of this one:

bidfun-db Archiv: Uhrwerke: Bulova 11DP (Citizen 0241)

(Technical specifications. Cal. 11DOD - the 11DP lacks a date)
Yes. For Caravelle movements the common Bulova nomenclature was used:
Leading number indicating the width in full lignes,
1st letter for the movement family,
2nd letter for the generation,
further letters indicating features added to the base movement, e.g. B for day/date, C for sweep second (if base has none), D date etc.

So the 11DO is the predecessor of the 11DP, and 11DOD is the same with date.

Regards, Roland Ranfft

Congrats! She looks great with the new band. Now, get it on your wrist and enjoy ...you're making me nervous letting it sit atop your cup of coffee. :-d
