I picked up a group lot in a online auction recently and mixed in with the junk I found this.

I think it's from the 30's but it's been recased into a I.D. watch case so I cant date it using the case number. I've checked the movement on ranftts site and it is a tudor 59 (fhf 30).

Does anyone know how to date this without the case?

What a nice surprise for you.:)

The earliest Tudors only had the name in script - the rose in shield emblem was introduced c.1936. In 1947 the shield was dropped so that narrows it down a bit. Someone else may know more of course.

Hi
We (or I) can only date it by the Tudor style logo
The style on your watch was introduced in 1936 and stopped (for a different style) in 1947
So between 1936 and 47

Best I can do

SORRY, Marrick beat me, but at least our info was same
