High Five From Berlin
High Five From Berlin
The story of WatchBandit is quickly told. It is a short story because WatchBandit was only launched in 2014. Two Berliners, Mick and Johannes, one Dane, the other German, are enthusiastic about watches and agreed to build their own watch. This idea didn‘t last long.
Both young entrepreneurs came from the e-commerce business and therefore agreed very fast to make sensible use of the knowledge already gained there, and so the idea of having their own watch was buried.
WatchBandit is dedicated to the online trading of watches (Micro brands, Meccaniche Veneziane as of late), watch straps and bracelets. In the start-up phase they, for a while, worked in two jobs until they rook the plunge into self-employment.
Four years later, two ambitious young business men sit in the middle of Berlin-Kreuzberg in the well known „Bergstraßenkiez“ and run their online shop full-time, in addition, one employee was hired.
WatchBandit is on a good way.
Over the years, the quality has been constantly improving. Today the leather comes from Tuscany.
Each of these leather straps is made inside an Italian tannery in a location famous for their production of leather goods. The WB Original suede leather watch straps are crafted out of a very soft suede material which wears comfotable from the first minute on. The leather not irritate your wrist and will look as nice as it is soft. You will love the looks.
Mick and Johannes are very concerned about quality, this is valid for their Naoto straps as well. During my visit, I was able to convince myself of the quality of the new range of Seat Belt Nato straps.
Those are definitely thicker than many other Nato straps I’ve seen so far, and I‘ve seen a lot.
All straps are reasonable priced, €25 for a Seat Belt Nato, € 35 for suede leather straps and € 45 for smooth leather (vintage) straps.
The online shop and web site will soon get an almost complete overhaul. The new straps, already announced in their blog (click „stories“ on www.watchbandit.com) will be available from then on.
WatchBandit also sell bracelets (among others: hook, anchor, U-lock). I especially liked the U-lock bracelets and paired them with some of my watches.
Damasko DS30 and South Pacific U-lock bracelet
Damasko DA20 Vintage Black and South Pacific U-lock bracelet
Archimede Pilot 42 GMT and Huron U-lock bracelet
The WatchBandit U-Lock collection is simple and elegant and can be worn with sport, smart, or casual outfits. The lock is made of stainless steel (polished) and holds the bracelet secure on your wrist.
