VOGARD has reached its 3rd milestone with the DATEZONER PILOT a watch that sets a new benchmark for world timers by combining date, time zone and chronograph functions.

The date is set via the bezel and is synchronised with every city on the bezel. Eventually, it always displays the right date even when you turn the bezel over the dateline, clockwise AND counter clockwise.

IATA airport codes

The bezel is engraved with UTC and all major metropolitan IATA airport codes. The bezel may be customized with your own favorite airport codes for a moderate extra cost.

The Secret

The linking of the time zone with date is a world first in the history of Swiss mechanical watch making. This ingenious solution became possible thanks to the development of a complex, angled synchronisation wheel.

The calculation of the exact angle for the positioning of the wheel on an inclined plans is a secret known only to VOGARDs engineers.

Extra large hands

The Datezoner Pilot is equipped with extra large skeletonised hands in order to read all instruments instantly and to give the watch a very masculine look. The hands are covered with strontium-aluminates, a substance known for its strong fluoresence at night.

Big date

The date window positioned at 6 o'clock is extra large so that the date is very easy to read. Its functionality is enhanced by a day/night disc positioned over the date. The date changes clockwise and counter-clockwise when you turn the bezel over the midnight line.

The new Datezoner Pilot is available in 2 color variations.

Apart from the crown at 6 o'clock, it looks really sharp.

How does it handle the 1/2 hour time zones (Newfoundland, Canada and India for example)?
Vogard allows full bezel customization. If you want a 1/2 hour incremental time zone, you simply have Vogard add it to the bezel when you put your order in.

Vogards have a very unique and functional complication that's wonderful if you travel a lot. I thought long and hard about buying one earlier this year when I was in Grand Cayman, but in the end bought something else while I was there. If you have an iPod or iPhone, there's a free app you can download that shows exactly how the watch works and allows you to customize it onscreen.
