So since this is such a hot topic I think we need a comprehensive list of watch manufactures current warranty transfer policies. I think as we get more info then down the road we can have a stickied list at the top to help forum members. I am using a Name, transferable or Non-Transferable, Warranty period and link to the web warranty statement format. I will start off with a few that I know or can access from here. Please add if you have them. I have only posted what I can confirm.

Here is the summary from all the post as of (March 31, 2009, 5Pm EST)

Do you know the warranty periods for those?

As far as MKII I am only posting what the official warranty statement says. Lets keep this to published polices if we can.

I've looked at Omega an it does not openly state transferability (Like Seiko does). It does state it needs a completed and stamped warranty card so it may be 50/50 if your name does not match the card. They are 2 year/3 year co-axial esc. This is from the warranty statement on the Omega site.

Here are ones I know about:

Bathys Hawaii Watch Company - was 1 year now 2 years - Transferable (note: I have heard John does not care which owner you are and even if it is out side the one/two year(s)...he will take care of the problem :-!)

Ulysee Nardin - 1 year - Transferable

Thanks! I'm a facts guy and I think we needed some around this subject.
Much agreed, and it definitely sheds some much needed light on things. Now I have another thing to look for in my watch purchases. Great, as if there wasn't enough already! :-d:-d:-d

_____________
According to Watchbuys, the standard Sinn warranty is 2 years and transferable for those models that can be repaired in the U.S. Their language gets a little murky when it comes to the warranty transfer for models that have to be sent to Germany. For those it states that the warranty is transferable "as allowed by Sinn." Luckily, I haven't had to do any repairs on mine, but I'll double check this info. with RGM tomorrow. Maybe some other owners can add their real-world experience.
_____________
From Watchbuys:

"Because we are the official and authorized North American Sinn distributor, your name and watch serial number will be automatically registered in our database for a Sinn manufacturer's limited warranty which we pass through. This means that should your watch require service during the Sinn manufacturer's limited warranty period, service will be provided by Sinn in Germany when you return your watch to them. This Sinn manufacturer's limited warranty is transferable to subsequent owners as allowed by Sinn.
The Sinn limited warranty period is as follows:

  • Watches in the EZM Series: 3 years
  • Watches marked AR containing inert gasses: 3 years
  • Watches in the DIAPAL Series: 5 years
  • All other Sinn models: 2 years
Advantage #2:
As an added benefit to those who purchase Sinn watches from WatchBuys, you may choose to have your warranty repairs serviced through our US service center, RGM Watch Company located in Pennsylvania. This added service saves our clients the time and effort of returning their watches to Germany for repair. This benefit applies for a period of up to two years from the date the watch was originally purchased from WatchBuys, and is transferable to subsequent owners."

Doxa - Non-Transferable - 2 Years - http://www.doxawatches.com/qa.htm#
Doxa changed there policy recently, they used transfer the warranty once, then it would be frozen. Although I am no longer a Doxa fan, this seemed reasonable...

I can't believe they changed this last November. This just solidifies my opinion about them. I am a previous owner and got rid of mine for multiple reasons, which they would not take care of. BUMS

I have moved what we have so far up to the table in the original post. I'll try and update the table every so often and date it. This way if you wish to see the newer additions until I can update the from table you can look for that after the date.
