Relatively new to watch collecting, with an interest in vintage Le Coultre's and Hamilton's. My wife and I will be traveling to Geneva, Switzerland in late September / early October this year.

We're looking for fun watch-oriented activities to do while we're there. interested in watchmaking, watch collecting, watch education - anything like that - any recommendations?

We plan to check out stores, and check out the Patek museum. What else should we add to our list?!

Thanks in advance for any thoughts -

The Patek museum is definitely worth the visit. If you can make it to La Chaux de Fonds the museum there is excellent too. In Bienne is a shop selling old tools and movements/parts, Herli, also nice to visit.

In Geneva there is a flea market at Plainpalais every Wednesday and Saturday, huge, often watch tools to be found. There's one guy in a purple VW van who has loads of watchmaking stuff, he's almost always there.

La Chaux de Fonds has a lot of watch business going on, Geneva is a kinda bland business city. Though, I'd DEFINITELY setup an appointment and tour with Akrivia in Geneva. Otherwise I'd look into other watch related tours and day trips, the train system is quite good in Switzerland and easy to use.
