Hi Suunto fans,
I need your experience.
I am looking at buying my first ABC watch.
I live in the snowy mountains of Japan and the soul purpose of the watch will be for ski touring/backcountry skiing. Im looking for that 3rd degree on the topo map, an need a watch with an accurate, reliable altimeter.
On yahoo auctions here, (equlivant of ebay) the Suunto Core all black has popped up at around $250 and the vector at around $200.
From the research I have done, The core sounds like the more accurate alitmeter of the two, asuming its a newer model. But the Vector seems to be bomb proof. Would you say this statment is true?
Im still not entirely sure how the core`s altimeter /barometer work, but have concerns in the hostile conditions of the Japanese alps, with constent storm cycles coming through, will this drive the alitmeter crazy, or will this system of the core be better at dealing with the weather cycles and give more accurate readings compared to the Vector.
I am swaying towards the core, but if reliability and accuracy would be an issue, (which are the key factors) I would go for the Vector.
Any info, and recomdations is appericated.
I unfortunatly have no experience with alitmeters and barometers.
Thanks everyone
