I've read in several threads that some of you use a watch winder. Is it better for an automatic watch to be on a watch winder when you're not wearing it? Or is it ok to let it wind down and then rewind it when you want to wear it again?

I really think most ppl. use winders because of multiple watches and not wanting to re-set the time/date. At least that's me. I don't think its hurting a watch to let it wind down.

My understanding is that it is OK to let your watch wind down. Some people would suggest winding it at least once a month to make sure that the oils lubricate the parts and that the oils don't "pool." (i'm not sure that the oils used today need this.)
I use a winder mainly for my watches that have multiple functions. I have several watches that have day, date, month, and/or moonphase functions. Having to re-set these every time I want to wear them can be a pain. Therefore, it is easier to keep them on a winder.
