Being doing a bit traveling lately and I was wondering how watches are effected when going through airport security.

I'm guessing that the metal detectors could have a negative effect on watches; also when it goes on the conveyor belt through the x-ray machine.

Does anyone know?

(not sure where to post this questions so I figured I would post it in the section where it all begins)

Well if you start worrying about the negative effects that electromagnetic fields have to watches then you will probably end up not wearing one! I mean yes all these factors may have a very small negative effect on a watch but think that in every day life our watches have to deal with a lot more than that. GSM networks, WiFi networks (especially in our homes and workplaces) etc. At least the airport security devices affect our watches once in a while and for some seconds.
