Apple has released a beta version of Watch OS 3.2 to developers (only).
MacRumors and others are reporting two new features in WatchOS 3.2
Read the original article on MacRumors or search the Apple developer site.

theater mode
"Theater Mode can be accessed by swiping up on the watch face to bring
up the Control Center. It's just below the option for silencing the Apple
Watch and features an icon with two theater masks.

When Theater Mode is turned on, it prevents the Apple Watch from making
noise and it keeps the screen dark even when the wrist is raised. Notifications
still come through, however, and are delivered via haptic feedback. The Apple
Watch's screen can be activated with a tap or through a press on the Digital
Crown."

SiriKit
SiriKit allows applications to interact with Siri.

The rumor part is for a WatchOS 3.2 public release in March.

Thanks for the heads up. I think voice commanding will be an increasing useful way to interact.

Yes. I didn't want to wait for watchOS 3 back in summer. So I got a developer account.

By the way you can do the same thing as theater mode by going to settings and turning display activation off.
Can you provide a link for watchOS developer account, by PM if necessary.

Sign up as a developer at Apple.com -- I think it's apple.com/developer (or something like that).

It's free to simply be a developer. I'm one (as far as I can tell). You would need to start paying a fee when you want to submit apps to the App Store and begin selling.

I presume as a developer, you can create or modify IOS or WatchOS apps?

You can't modify other apps as your account won't sign theirs, but you can create your own and run them on your own devices that are registered to your iCloud account.

It only starts costing money when you put them up for sale. Apart from that, you can noodle around in Xcode to your heart's content.

This is good to know. You need to renew a developer account yearly?

The best improvement of 3.2 (for me as a developer) is that they fixed a big problem introduced in 3.0, where the 3rd party apps that used complications would suffer a gradual performance decrease until they eventually crash. SiriKit support for 3rd party apps on the watch is great too, but not many apps can make use of it yet due to its very limited nature. I really hope they expand what's allowed to be done through SiriKit sometime soon.
