I have a 4 watch watch winder that my wife got me for my birthday years ago. I think it’s from Brookstone - made in china. It stopped working about 3 years ago and rather than throwing it out, I thought I’d try to repair the motors. The thing is, I don’t see any screws where I can take panels off to access the guts. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

I don’t have advice for how to dig into that, but just a quick question: Did the motors stop working one by one over time, or all at once?

One by one might indicate the motors themselves burning out. All at once might indicate the IC board, which could potentially be a quick fix if you can identify and replace the faulty component on the board.

I had the same issue (motor noise but no movement) and replaced the broken belt. If you Google "Brookstone watch winder repair" the 1st result from IWL will give you the part number you need to order. For the other motors that are not moving good luck and interested to find out what you determine is the issue.

I have a similar thread out there somewhere where I replaced the motors in an Amazon-sourced 4-position winder. The motors that come in these winders literally cost less than $1 and the failure rate is high. Here's the original thread:

Essentially, if your motors have indeed failed, you need to grab the part number off them and cross reference. I found that many of these motors are made by Mabuchi, which are junk. I replaced them with a bit higher-quality motor (that you can still buy cheaply if you're patient and willing to wait for slow-boat shipping) and they are running nicely 5 years later (and much quieter than the originals.)

As to how to disassemble, sometimes they hide the screws under small stickers and in my case, the entire top portion just lifted up and was hinged on one side.
