To our fellow Watchuseek members and fans of Grand Seiko:

Thank you very much for your years of support of the Grand Seiko brand! As many of you know, Topper Jewelers has done an excellent job of starting the Grand Seiko Official Forum here on Watchuseek. With the growth of GS in the US market, as well as other markets across the globe, Seiko Corporation of America is now officially sponsoring this forum, along with a few authorized dealers who will act as "sub-sponsors" and will actively contribute to the forum. These are exciting times for the brand and now being partnered with Watchuseek, we look forward to giving you the best Grand Seiko experience possible.

My name, which is also my handle, is Joe Kirk. As Rob from Topper mentioned in a previous post, I will now be the moderator for the Grand Seiko Official Forum. For those who don't know, I have spent the last decade handling Seiko's luxury products. In the last few months, I was lucky enough to obtain a position with Seiko Corporation of America as the director of the newly opened Seiko Boutique in Miami. My previous experience in the industry includes working as a retailer for many different watch brands including Grand Seiko. I have also been involved with watch related web design, and a contributing writer and photographer for Watchuseek in the past. Having attended the last five Baselworld Fairs and recently visiting our two factories in Japan, I hope I can contribute the knowledge I have obtained over the years to this forum and help the readers further understand Grand Seiko, as well as our other luxury brands.

We, again, appreciate all of the continuous support and look forward to the ongoing evolution of the Grand Seiko Official Forum!

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to contact me directly via pm, phone, email or if you are in the Miami area, by visiting the boutique.

Welcome, Joe. This is one of my very favorite watch forums, with an enthusiastic and non-pretentious group of people. It will be great to have your input about this remarkable brand, which makes up the bulk of my small watch collection.
Very much looking forward to your participation.
Cheers,
Carl

I wonder if this would have any effect on threads or contents were considered to be critical of Seiko?
Everyone is entitled to their opinion and it is not something I will remove or regulate unless it goes against WUS rules. The forum rules are as they were. My job is to provide factual information and help further expand the knowledge on GS. So, as T1meout said, let's get the party started!

Many thanks Carl. I'm glad to hear it's your favorite and I've already seen it's a great group. Thanks again!

I'm very happy to see that someone from grand seiko will be an active member....... Corporate GS can seem very distant sometimes to the GS owners out of Japan...... This development is encouraging to me.
Any chance of GS/ spring drive service in the USA anytime soon?

Thank you very much Matthew. It is a pleasure to be here and though I have been a forum member for a long time, I am proud to be here now with SCA.

GS/Spring Drive can now be serviced stateside with one exception being the 9R86 Chronograph movement. It has taken years of training to get this far and I am sure it is only a matter of time before the chrono movements can be serviced here as well.

Thanks again!

Welcome Joe, we have some serious Seikopaths here lol, including myself.

Talking of GS i was in the Sydney Seiko boutique a few weeks ago, very nice people who work there, i was checking out the GS and the GS diver they had, very impressive, its so good we've finally got our own Seiko store and a place us Sydneysiders can go and check out the higher end Seiko's and all the propex lineup, long overdue, and now a GS forum, nice work and welcome.
