I am wondering what is the holy grail of G-shock to own. Price is no object.

I think a NOS DW-5000C-1A would be about the top of my list. It's the first.

There can't be too many out there. I suppose it would not be cheap.
Good call, Riley. I guess these two would represent the two "superlative" watches of the G-Shock world. :)

anyone buying this for 5700 is a few sandwaches short of a picnic.
Why? I'm guessing it is probably a higher quality watch (or at least no worse) than a Rolex, or Breitling, or... May not be the same looks wise, but I think it actually looks better than some of those other really expensive watches out there. Obviously this is my opinion and others will have their own.

Have to agree with Riley there. My pick would be a vintage, especially a NOS DW-5000c, must be VERY rare and pretty pricey as well. I'm not a big fan of Casio's newer pricier models, would as well by another status brand if I wanted a nice looking fancy watch.
A rare vintage watch and the first G-shock is the grail for me.

I'll gladly trade mine for a MRG8100:

Any takers? :-d
