Ironman triathlons, composed of 2.4 mile open water swim, 112 mile bike, and 26.2 mile marathon run, are a great fitness challenge. In these races you start at 7:00 am and must finish by midnight or they turn out the lights and you are given a DNF (did not finish). As a slow "back of the pack" triathlete I often find myself racing into the evening and night. So, what watch would I wear...a Ball of course! While I have a Garmin 910XT to track my mileage, I keep my Ball Pulsemeter Chronometer COSC on my other wrist, focused on finishing before midnight. In the dark I can really see the lume, and it gets me through. Hey, I can even check my heart rate if I need to! Here are pics from the recent Ironman US Championship in New York, where I finished before midnight, and even set a new PR (personal record)!
